Part of the Bourne Education Trust (BET), Teddington School is a popular mixed comprehensive school, and sixth form located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
The school aims to provide a first-class educational experience for every child; firmly believing that everyone is entitled to an ‘excellent education’, which offers breadth of curriculum, academic rigour and opportunity regardless of background.

The Bourne Education Trust (‘BET’) was established in 2011 and has grown steadily since then. It is largely Surrey based but has also expanded into Hampshire and Richmond. It is made up of 24 academies and 3 associate schools. It is responsible for the education of approximately 14,000 pupils and employs just over 1,600 staff.
Since 2012 it has taken ten schools from special measures or requiring improvement to good or outstanding. The rest have at least maintained their good status whilst in the Trust. BET has transformed the finances in 12 of its schools so that no school in the Trust is in deficit.

The Bourne Education Trust wanted to upgrade all the lighting at Teddington School, which used outdated lighting technology throughout. Working with contractor Baudelaire Ltd and consultant Synergy, Dextra provided new, efficient LED lighting to the school. Bespoke gear trays were also made to fit the existing raft systems within the classrooms.
