Plumpton College, a specialist land-based further education institution in East Sussex, has recently expanded its facilities including the construction of a new Veterinary Centre.
Designed to support the next generation of veterinary professionals, the centre’s state-of-the-art facilities, including a brand new hydrotherapy pool, enhances the college’s ability to provide high-quality practical training.

To guarantee the new centre achieves the highest standards of energy efficiency, project consultant Southeast Electrical Solutions Ltd selected Dextra to supply a cutting-edge lighting system.
Dextra’s Reacta wireless controls were specified throughout the building, delivering impressive energy savings through intelligent dimming and daylight regulated technologies.

The system allows teachers and area occupants to have full control over light levels with adjustable wall-mounted switches allowing the user to dim specific rows of lights for whiteboard use, and take full advantage of natural daylight in teaching spaces.
By reducing unnecessary energy consumption, this innovative solution not only lowers ongoing costs but also aligns with Plumpton College’s commitment to sustainability.

The collaboration between Plumpton College, Southeast Electrical Solutions Ltd, and Dextra Group has resulted in a lighting solution that prioritises both efficiency and functionality.
With an intelligent lighting system tailored to its exact needs, the Veterinary Centre is set to provide an optimal learning environment while significantly reducing energy usage.
