Maintenance depots are demanding and dangerous environments that require carefully considered lighting solutions to help safeguard the security and well-being of the train care operatives. Lighting for these buildings should be robust, reliable and easy to maintain/upgrade with a high impact and ingress protection rating. Lighting controls can also be utilised to help minimise the operational costs when areas are not in use. RETRO-FIT SOLUTIONS
There is a drive to install new LED luminaires across the Rail Network to reduce energy consumption and maintenance but this can be expensive. It is however possible to upgrade and extend the lifetime of your existing fittings without the cost and waste associated with a new installation.
Over the last decade the Dextra Group have supplied hundreds of thousands of retrofit LED gear trays to suit a wide variety of applications. Where required we will invest in bespoke extrusions, injection mouldings and die castings to bring a high quality finish to a unique product that’s tailored to your requirements.
This approach can substantially reduce cost and it ties in with Network Rail’s ambition to “minimise the use of resources, design out waste and embed circular economy thinking into the Rail industry”.
