WAREHOUSING

The requirement for warehousing has never been stronger, driven primarily by the continued expansion of e-commerce and changing supply chain dynamics. The sector has seen the rapid adoption of new technologies like automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) coupled with specialised data analytics to help optimize operations.

Lighting for these facilities has evolved dramatically over the years with an increased emphasis on the ease of maintenance, remote monitoring and integrated controls to reduce energy consumption. Dexeco have extensive experience in this field offering a wide range of highly efficient LED luminaires with precision optics that minimise glare and provide even illumination to both the horizontal and vertical working surfaces across varying aisle widths.

FOOD PRODUCTION

Food manufacturing facilities often run continuously 24/7 with fast moving production lines that are intrinsically linked and dependant upon each other. These buildings require carefully considered lighting solutions to help minimise the risk of operational disruption.

In general terms luminaires need to be robust, reliable and easy to maintain/upgrade with a high ingress protection rating. They should be designed to prevent the accumulation of dust, dirt and fluids to help minimise the risk of contamination and have the ability to withstand the varied operating temperatures that are often found in these demanding environments.

COLD STORAGE

There has been a significant surge in the need for industrial cold storage facilities over the last two decades, driven by the growing demand for fresh and frozen foods. These buildings typically operate with ambient temperatures of -30 degrees centigrade and therefore require specialist lighting solutions that can withstand these conditions.

Light fittings should have a minimum IP65 rating to withstand moisture and potential condensation. Where viable the use of remote gear packs for both mains drivers and emergency components is often desirable. This allows for quick and simple maintenance of parts outside of the cold store and it also helps to minimise the amount of heat emitted into the chilled environment, reducing the load on the cooling system.
