Course Title: TM65 Embodied carbon calculation in building services: calculation methodology
Our TM65 CPD examines the differing methods of calculating embodied carbon at the basic, medium and EPD levels and then explores the impact of the omission of operational carbon, which is currently excluded from TM65 calculations, including examples to demonstrate the impact of these emissions. The
presentation also seeks to provide clarity on data presentation and comparisons between manufacturers, the information manufacturers are likely to provide, and how these environmental guidelines are likely to impact future luminaire designs. The session concludes by clarifying some of the limitations with the
current system, and summarises with key considerations when seeking to minimise whole life carbon.
Course Title: Human Centric Lighting and Circadian Rhythm Course
This CPD course explores the history of Circadian Rhythm and why it is important, influences on circadian rhythm and how Human Centric Lighting can be used. The course also covers applications of human centric lighting and looks at studies showing the benefits in the various applications.
Course Title: TM66: 2021 creating a circular economy in the lighting industry
Our TM66 course discusses the principles of circular product design and the methods by which the longevity of luminaires can be extended as far as possible to minimise their environmental impact. The course then goes on to explore TM66 CEAM-Make, the factors on which products are assessed, how this benefits and disadvantages manufacturers and the impact on product designs in future. The course concludes with a discussion on the use of retrofit gear trays rather than complete luminaires to minimise the impact of lighting upgrades.
The courses offered by Dextra Group can be arranged at your premises or via Teams. We ask for a minimum of 6 attendees where a full presentation of 40-45 minutes will be given along with a 10-15 minute Q&A session. Full certificates will be provided for all attendees contributing towards their CIBSE CPD requirements.
